PRESS Release by DGCA on Refund by Indigo

Directorate General of Civil Aviation is constantly engaging with M/s Indigo with respect to refunds and compensations provided to the affected passengers due to operational disruptions from 3rd to 5th December 2025. Passengers are entitled to compensation as per CAR Section 3, Series M, Part IV titled “Facilities to be provided to passengers by airlines due to denied boarding, cancellation of flights and delays in flights”.

M/s Indigo informed that all refunds for Indigo flight cancellations during the period of 3rd to 5th Dec 2025 have been fully processed and cleared to the original source of payment. In addition, passengers whose flights were cancelled within 24 hours of the scheduled departure time during the above period may claim compensation, where applicable, in accordance with the DGCA Civil Aviation Requirement (CAR) Section 3, Series M, Part IV, through link –

Further, as an additional measure to support affected passengers, M/s IndiGo has extended a “Gesture of Care (GoC)”, under which:

• Two travel vouchers of INR 5,000 each (total value INR 10,000) are being provided
• Validity: 12 months
• Applicable to passengers whose flights were cancelled or delayed by more than three hours during 3rd–5th December 2025

Passengers are also advised to ensure that accurate contact details, including a mobile number and email address, are provided at the time of booking, whether through the airline’s website or a travel agent. This will help airlines provide timely information on schedule changes and facilitate assistance, wherever required.
